I made a mess of this

It’s always funny when someone copies me, because, often, I wouldn’t copy myself.

Sure, there’s plenty I do right the first time. But there’s also stuff that I look back on and wonder…why did I do it like that?

The way I set up my newsletters is one of those things.

I have three newsletters on beehiiv.

This one you’re reading now, Journalists Pay Themselves and Low Energy Leads. I also have my main mailing list in MailerLite.

See what I mean?

It’s not interesting how things ended up this way but I now have two problems this has created:

1) My Legends subscribers who get access to the paid versions of the newsletters have to go to 4 different websites to find their stuff 🤡 seriously, what Lex?!

2) People are joining the wrong subscription. Journalists end up over on Legends. Creatives who should be in Legends join through Journalists Pay Themselves.

I’ll be honest and say I didn’t really think Legends was gonna last more than a year. I wasn’t sure I’d get that much traction past the initial launch but 115 members—and growing interest from creatives becoming creators—indicate otherwise, so I’m building the Legends a better home.

And I’m gonna do it on Ghost and Outpost.
